Check that the caliper moves easily, that the pads are tight so that
they can't rotate as they pinch on the rotor, and that the swivel pins

Grease the universals and the sliding joint to see if there's a
difference. Jack up the car and turn the prop shaft by hand, listening at
the differential. Turn one wheel and listen for the other to make an
unusual clunk. Exhaust system loose? Loose or deteriorated damper link
or transmission mount?

Might be the windshield clamps making the rattle. Try a wrap with a rag
around them.
