Ladies and Gentlemen:
After a good night's sleep, the cap is off. And my cap is off to all of you
who offered the helpful suggestions. Apparently this seemingly innocuous
little piece has caused others grief as well.
Here is my method: Bend a 1/4" x 3" or 4" EYE BOLT at the eye. Fasten it to
the grease cap stud with a nut. Bolt the flange of your slide hammer to the
protruding end of the eye-bolt. Bang, bang, bang! Most satisfying, but I
should have thought of it on my own.
