I would like to let all fellow MG owners know exactly how I was
recently treated by Radio Shack here in NC; like shit. I had bought
a car stereo amplifier from them about two weeks ago. A few days
later, to my terror, the entire unit let out a loud "thumping" and
stopped making noise. No radio, tape, nothing. My tape deck
warranty did not cover this type of "accident" and the audio shop
that I bought the tape deck from looked at the amplifier for me and
found it to be the cause of my problem. As I returned to my local
Radio Shack, the store manager simply gave me his bosses number to
call - no help yet. When I finally spoke to the district manager
today, he was very rude and adamant that the amplifier could not have
caused the problem. He refused to replace the tape deck, even if it
was found that their amplifier caused the problem. He then refused
to give me service to my Radio Shack amp since it was looked at by
another technician. In other words, I'm out of a $150 tape deck and
a $180 amplifier. For a college student, this is a severe loss, and I
have to drive 10 hours home to PA in two days - with no radio. The
only thing this manager didn't do was insult my mother. Therefore, I
warn you, DO NOT frequent Radio Shack for anything more than
electrical tape. If you buy something expensive from them, expect NO
service or support. Thank you for listening, I hope that you will
not make the same mistake that I did.
