In California, after the initial VIN verification, there are no inspections
for T series cars and in my reading of the DMV bible, you may have your car
exactly as it came off the assembly line, sans seat belts, sans turn signals
with a few minor exceptions:
If the car had no windshield, the CHP will take note.....tho they have never
bothered me for driving with my Brooklands, something I do always. You are
also required by statute to have a windshield of safety glass but this is not
strictly enforced. I did my VIN verification at a DMV office with Mr. Arnolt
on a trailer without any glass and nothing was said. The glass shop
installed the tempered windshield without comment. On my TA I even have
dipping headlights, literally, hooked up as the King intended:
the near side dips and the offside extinguishes when on high beam.....but I
never use high beam because of that. Also no turn signals but I do have em
flashers and seatbelts, 3 point!
Indiana or California.....take your choice......!
Cheers
