you must replace them. They are not actually flat. The bottoms are concave 
which causes them to rotate as the cam lobe rubs against it. Buy new ones, 
they're not too expensive.

OK to flame me 4 this, but I was wondering if it is permissable to grind
down the tappets to acheive a flat surface, or must they be replaced????
