  Milo-

I insulated my floor boards with heat/vibration damping tape
from Aircraft Spruce Co. This is designed to be applied to
aircraft firewalls/fueselage- it is 1/4 inch thick, foil-faced
polyurethane sheet foam. I have been pleased with the results.

BTW, Aircraft Spruce (800) 824-1930 has a great catalog- 400
pages of neat materials/tools/bits that are also useful to
auto restorers. Its something like $5, but I think this is
  refundable with your first order(?).
