As I prepare for my highway cruise tomorow, I decided it was time to fix my
overdrive on my 71BGT. It stopped working several months ago, but since
most of my driving was in the city, I did not get around to working on it
until this weekend.
After climbing underneath my car (well oiled from its usual leaks), I
pulled the solenoid and checked the wiring. After reassembly, I find the OD
still does not work. I am getting power to the solenoid and the 3rd/4th
gear switch works.
Any ideas? Any suggestions on how to verify that the solenoid actually operates?
I sure would like to cruise at lower rpms when I test our new unlimited
speed limit here in Montana (although I am heading to northern Wyoming).
