I dunno too much about SUs. The idea is that if you can't get air into
the cylinder because the throttle plates are closed, there's no air to
compress. Fuel has little to do with it (I think). In fact, I usually
disconnect power to the gas pump and let it run dry to avoid the possibility
of detonation.
