Paul, The Stewart people say a big no to restrictors ! You should get their brochure it has some good tech stuff www.stewartcomponents.com ...I think! Personally I do not believe it can be too fast! cavitation and such excluded. It is impossible for the water not to contact the hot surfaces and remove heat - and the faster the better.
