All, If any of you are building up an engine w/the Buick 300 crank, there is a new crank scraper available on e-bay. Ishihara-Johnson sent me a patten for their 215 scraper (Daryl Naskale helped develop that one), and I modified it for the 300 crank and sent it back for production. I'm not making any money off the sale, though I got a free one for making the pattern :-). This is just the ticket for that extra 3-5 HP. Actualy, I'm not sure how much it'll add. But it should also help reduce aeration in the oil beyond what the windage tray does. It also looks like it could be converted to a block girdle w/ a little bit of welding. Cross strips would have to be added and the holes would have to be reduced in size to make it a precision fit, but it's possible. Enjoy.
