It turns out what while John is contemplating his Ebay spring purchase, I'm
sitting here looking at the TF chassis and original springs. I'm wondering if
they have sagged and how I could test for that.
Horst Schach in his TD rebuild book sez that after he refurbished his springs
and mounted them on the chassis, that he could not get the axle check straps
on until there was more weight on it by the body tub.
As my bare chassis sits here on jack stands, sans wheels, the axle check
straps are not even at the bottom of their throw, if thats the right
word.....which seems to indicate that I've lost some of the spring arch.
Any comments would be appreciated.
