Scott,

Go to Sears and buy a 1-1/4" socket. I don't know if they have one in 1/2"
drive but they certainly have them in stock in 3/4" drive.  You may jump on
the breaker bar and not hurt the nut using a 32 MM socket, but if you hurt
yourself if the socket slips off what have you gained.
