This must be the right time of year for TD
restorations. I have also finished the chassis on my
'50 TD and am about to embark on the timber
replacement process. My sheet metal is fine but I fear
that it all has to come apart just to replace the door
jamb framing and the rocker/sill pieces.

I have found that the through bolts... the ones that
go through the metal bracing pieces, one at the top
behind the scuttle and one at the bottom at the front
of the door area,... turn on their own and that there
is no way to get to the T-nuts behind the sheet metal
without taking the cladding off the wood.

Any experience that list members are willing to share
could be helpful and would be appreciated. Photos
would be a huge asset.

Isn't it nice to know that you don't have to go
through this stuff by yourself? Sympathies to other
framers.

Cheers,
