Hello list. I have been a participant in the MG list for the past 5 years
but I am a new TD owner and a new subscriber to this list. Wednesday, I
became the owner of a 1953 MG TD. It is completely disassembled and the
PO was preparing it for total restoration. Do to an impending move and
loss of shop space, he sold it to me.

The worst area of the car is the floor of the cab. A DPO prior to my
seller welded a steel floor in that is now rotten. I will have to cut or
torch it out an replace the floors with wood. Having never dealt with
wood components before, I have some questions:
1. How important is it to use Moss or other manufactured replacement
floorboards?
2. If one choses to make floorboards, what is the best material?
3. Are patterns available for the wood parts of the T-series cars?
(floors, rear compartment covers, seat bases and backs, etc).
I have all new ash components for the doors and body panels, so they are
not an issue. Woodworking was my first hobby before MG's, so I am
comfortable fabricating parts.

Thanks in advance for your input.
