Bud,
    Rig a hose fitting for the cylinder with a zerk fitting (directly
into the metal end of an old brake hose).  Attach this fitting to the
cylinder and apply a grease gun.  If this doesn't do the job, then it is
definitely propane and resleeving time.  By the way, count yourself
lucky that the piston in the cylinder  didn't come loose with the
compressed air - it would have become a potentially lethal projectile
flying around your work space if it had.  One should never use
compressed air to get a piston loose, always work with a
non-compressable liquid - once the stuck item breaks loose, all the
pressure is gone when using a liquid.
