A number of years ago I had a conducted tour of a tyre remoulding factory.
We reached the point in production where the old tyre cases had the
remaining tread rubber removed by a machine, prior to being remoulded. I was
informed that this waste rubber for used by other companies to manufacture
windscreen wiper blades and other rubber parts.
So do not assume that the stuff we buy from suppliers is made of new rubber,
I am all in favour of recycling but there are limits especially when it
affects quality.
