No, the MG version of the Austin America was NOT called a Magnette. It
was an MG 1100 or MG 1300 depending on the engine size. Basic "badge
engineering" - there was also a Morris 1100 (the most common variety in
the UK), a Riley 1100 and a Van den Plas (with wool, walnut, leather
etc.) the grille is from an MG 1100.
