Hello Ross,
I can only tell you what I would do and that is that I would buy a new
block. I think this is even more relevant in your case if you are going to
use the car competitively.

Subject: Help - re sleeving advice
MMM friends,
I am seeking advice on the best way to deal with failure in no 1 cylinder
wall of my N type, over the weekend whilst preparing for Leyburn sprints, I
had what I initially thought was head gasket failure. On retuning home
yesterday and removing the head I discovered the wall to no 1 cylinder had
failed with a section missing about 30mm long by 20mm wide.
My dilemma is how to fix the problem. I have measured the bore as it is now
at 60mm diameter, there would only appear to be about 2-3mm of wall
thickness remaining.
What options do you suggest.
* Re-sleeve block - will there be enough wall thickness remaining for this
to be successful.
* Throw block away and start again.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, I wish to use car in sprints etc so
this may influence your advice.
Regards
Ross kelly
