Hi Pip,
I'm sure you are aware that Roger F. Thomas wrote a book "M.G. Trails Cars".
The book is all about pre-war M.G. trails cars and their modificxations. In
the book are many references to 16" wheels/tyres, eg. Page 43, copy of
letter , M.G. Car Company limited, dated 8 Jan. 1937 refers to 16" wheels.
Page 44 refers to 16" wheels for the T Midget. Page 47 lists the
Specifications of T series ( as in TA ) competition cars and includes
reference to 16" x 6 " wheels. Several photos show 16" rear wheels, eg,
pages, 49, 50, 84,85,90.
Surely these M.G.Car Company letters, specifications and pre-war trials
photos prove the use of 16" wheels pre-war.

Also page 446 of Blowers M.G. Workshop Manual refers to 16 in. x 4.00 in.
wheels for TB and TC cars, M.G. part number A1338,.
Best regards, Bob Grunau

Friends,
I hope you have all survived "the worm attack".

My search goes on for evidence that 16" wheels were used on MG's prior to
1940.

I have learnt that MG part number A 1338 was issued for TB wheels of 16" for
tyres of 5.00 or 5.50 size.

There surely must be some specialist who has a spare parts book for a TB who
can give me a copy of the page.

Can any of you point me in the right direction.

I would much appreciate the assistance.

Cheers

Pip
