I don't disagree, even after rereading Mike Allison's article, but why
would my engine still be standard bore after a rebuild? Other work
perhaps?
My, you're up late.

BMC painted their rebuilt engines green in the 1950s. This is why many
of
the engines (not only OHC) were green by the time we got ahold of them.
My
PB engine was green, too, even though it's a 2 seater. The racing dept
spent
days on the racing engines and they were blue (brushed) to differenciate
from standard production engines - which were red. Under several layers
of
different colors I got down to dark red in the crevices on my F-type
6-cyl
block and nose piece. But who knows if even THIS is the original? I
don't.
