I was always taught to allow 0.004" end gap clearence for every 1 inch of cylinder bore on the top (fire) ring end gap. Second compression ring you could allow 0.003" end gap clearence per inch of bore. Oil ring rail gaps were alot wider from what I remember, but I would tend to have them on the tighter side to better control, scrap excess oil from the cylinder walls. Just a thought ! Tony G LI,NY |
