...and then I hit the "send" button before I was ready. Anyway, he
only tells that he was a good pitcher and a good paper-pusher, and
enjoyed time on Waikiki beach. I wonder what else there was. He's
never mentioned even holding a weapon, nor hearing an aircraft operated
in anger. He tells of his brother, who commanded an LST, buying Navy
beer for 50 cents/ case and selling it to Dad for 75 cents, who would
in turn sell it to thirsty GIs for a buck a case.
