Ya know if a guy used a dual point distributor and hooked the second set up to a deal that switch one set off and on he can do the same thing and retard the timing. MSD also makes a little knob deal that will input to an MSD and control the timing as well. they say it is for bad gas and that sort of thing but you know they are fooling everyone cause if you feed 2 wheel speeds into a frequency to voltage converter and then to an op-amp to subtract one voltage from the other and compare that to allowed slip you could feed the MSD a voltage to retard the timing.. You can do the same thing by feeding the tach signal in to two frequency to voltage converters and have one of them have a filter with a suitable cap so the rate of change could be adjusted you just compare those and if she is picking up speed too fast you retard the timing as well or set off the rev limiter but that is too obvious. hell just go to the IBM patent server and look up Davis technology and see how they did it..
