i've been following the suspension thread with interest and trying to figure
out the major differences between a land speed suspension system and high
performance sports car suspension i've raced dragsters, circle track cars, and
sports cars, and presently race a corvette at maxton. i'm a new guy and never
been on salt. i can see where bits and pieces of suspension systems might find
a
use but it looks like a high performance sports car type suspension might
cover most of the concerns here. in the event you are not able to use
independent
rear suspension, and use a tube axle it looks like the answer would be some
kind of four link, and maybe a watts link to center the thing. i understand the
effect of torque on a solid axle but how much can it really effect handling on
the salt. i'm not sure i'm appreciating the full extent of the difference
between a 250 mph car on salt and a 250 mph car on anything else.
can anybody help a poor dumb new guy and define the problem that effects the
salt car
and is not present in other kinds of racing
wondering in kentucky
