Neil
There are two car washes in Wendover, both are at the west end of town and
near the KOA. It's a very good idea to drive slow even if the salt is dry.
There is still spray off the dry surface salt that gets into every crack.
The fan can pick it up and get it on the engine. Good for electrical stuff.
Most of us take extra time to add to mud flaps and other areas as well. You
will want to go to a hardware store and buy some plastic sheeting to tape
down to the carpet. I use a good clear package tape. Lay a trim around the
area you want to tape to, then tape the plastic to the tape. A couple of
cheap small throw rugs to step on as you enter helps as does taking off your
shoes.
The 1st time is a big learning curve and you will see a lot of different
ways people do it. There will be more on this subject on the list. The
archives on landspeed page has lots of info as well we have discussed the
last 3 years.
By the way Neil if you ever want to discuss this on the phone or any other
subject let me know and I will e-mail the number off list. Looking forward
to meeting you on the salt.
