The dry sump pump is doing more than getting oil to the bearings.
Vaccuum pumps require HP also. Do you have any idea what the net HP gain
on a 304 CID 9000 RPM motor would be.

about 17 to 20" vacuum on my V6. Some NASCAR builders run well above 24"
(till they suck the oil through the valves).
