Chlorofluorocarbons and Hydrochlofluorocarbons. (Freon falls into this
category)
The family of nasties used as refrigerants in air conditioners. Both are not
legal today.
HCFCs are not as nasty, but still bad.
They both attack gaseous ozone (O3) ... hence the damage to the ozone layer.

Here's a money-maker. If you catch someone, or somebody from some company
venting CFCs from their air conditioning unit (home or industry), and can
snag a picture and prove it (lots of "ifs"), they get fined ($10k), and you
get a nice slice of the fine (10%, I think) .. .courtesy of the EPA.
