I use a 1990 F-350 460ci with the AOD-6 (I believe) overdrive. Same
tranny since new, now 85,000 miles, service it every 30,000, use OD on the
flats, but shift to direct whenever the engine starts to pull.
The truck carries a 4,000 lb self contained camper, and the 20'
enclosed trailer weighs 7000 lb loaded......................Doug King
