<Anybody out there have any info on the reality of the Coriolis (sp?)
effect ?
It says that water flows down drains counter-clockwise north of the
Equator,and clock-wise south of the Equator . D.R.L.A. or our Doug,Maybe ?
I accepted it as logical until recently when i came across something on this
screen that said otherwise that made just as much sense. ...either way,maybe
i spend too much time near the toilet............Bob, in anticipation of

the rotation of the earth, Typhoons in the western Pacific and hurricanes in
the Atlantic spin counter clockwise. Cyclones in the south Pacific spin
clockwise. Winds flow west near the equater. In both the north and south mid
latitudes the winds flow east. This is easily seen these days on satelite

If you imagine yourself to be a martian, in a purple suit?,
or the man on the moon, you would then have the right perspective
to suss this out...the rotation of your bathwater scum does not
change just as the earths rotation CANT change...well, one night
it did but that was Jack Daniels fault!...
The way I look at it is thus, imagine a hole through the Earth
from the North Pole to the South Pole & you pour a jug of water
down it, OK! a bloody BIG jug of water then!...it would swirl anti-
clockwise throughout its journey. When you astral travel to the
Antarctic YOU are looking at it upside down but you dont realise it
so of course you think its changed rotation.
{when you stand BEHIND an engine...which way is it rotating?}....
...or..some of my most frustating moments with clients have been
trying to determine the Left & Right of a vehicle.
Client;
"Looking from the Front, THAT is the Left/Right mudguard/fender/wing"!
THATS the Coriolis effect!!!
WE determine engine rotation from the front of the engine and L & R
from behind!...tell Coriolis to piss off!!!
