Joe, glad you raised that question about the adequacy of 5W-30 oil for
speed trials.

Since all the big automakers have been specifying it for cars and
pickups for the last 11 years at least (re my '89 Cad owner's manual),
towing trailers, tropical stinking hot conditions and whatever, all over
America, I have to believe that the hot lubrication is adequate and they
have seen no evidence to the contrary.
