Most likely a blocked fuel line between tank and pump. Possibly a
blocked pick up filter in the tank. Try to remove the pick up / fuel
gauge sensor (which are probably combined as on many UK cars) from the
tank, inspect and clean and rectify the cause which is probably dirt
and/or rust in the tank.
