I am overhauling a BJ7 gearbox for a friend. I know it is a BJ7 box as it has the loose needle rollers in the main shaft but it has had steel syncro rings as per a BJ8 fitted. They are in perfect condition, so my question is, can I leave them in or do they need to be replaced with brass. The car is being built as a rally replica and will probably see some competition work.
