Mark,
Whoever you end up using, be sure to request some pictures of their work, and
try to get as many satisfied customer references as possible.
--In trying to get my badge for my Healey done several years ago, I sent it to
a cloisonni and plating restorer recommended by several club members.... Long
story short, over six months later, I had to insist the badge be sent back to
me, -and it turns out had essentially been destroyed. The restorer eventually
commented "I've had a lot of trouble with these" --I wound up paying through
the nose to a shop in GB for an NOS one to replace it.
If I were getting something irreplaceable done, ---I would be EXTREMELY
careful selecting a restorer..

Subject: Cloisonni Badge Repair Non Healey but British
I am working on a project and need some idea of sources for badge repair. I
have a very rare factory valve cover for a Triumph that I would like to have
repaired. It has a cloisonne' multi color Triumph logo on a copper (?)
plate that is also nickel plated. It is not in terrible shape but I am
looking to make it like new. There was a thread regarding some Healey
badges that were redone by someone ( in the UK maybe). This thing is
probably 50 years old. Does anybody know who does this sort of thing?
Thanks
Mark
