If I recall you have fresh paint on your car.  Suggest that you touch  up and 
leave the posts painted. The aluminum will corrode and require regular  
polishing unless you anodize. Just my two cents but having the touch up  paint 
in 
the garage will come in handy in the months and miles to  come.
