To answer a whole bunch of the rumors flying around about GEEZ and
Evolution nee McKamey schools for 2000...we are working on several
things together.
We expect to prototype the use of GEEZ as a part of the standard Phase I
school in February. If all goes well, GEEZ would become an integral
part of the school beginning possibly as early as the 2/17 Ft Myers
session. In Phase I, GEEZ would be used to record "before" (baseline)
and "after" (final session) runs with the results from each given to all
students at the conclusion of the school. Currently all students
receive split times and overall time sheets from the "before" and
"after" sessions in a nice printout. GEEZ printouts would make a
supplement to this information, helping the student to continue to
study and learn about his driving even after the event is over.
Additionally, Evolution is beginning to schedule Test & Tune sessions,
in which drivers can spend a day of intense practice, with or without
GEEZ, and have a full day of intensive coaching from Evolution
instructors. The role of GEEZ in these schools is up to the individual
student. Evolution instructors will be there who are quite well versed
in using and reading GEEZ, and participants who want to make GEEZ the
focus of their session will find lots of knowledgable assistance. In
addition, top instructors will be available to drive your car if you
like, and help coach you, either with or without the assistance of GEEZ.
Finally, Evolution will be providing a limited number of GEEZ Schools,
aimed specifically at teaching owners of GEEZ to use the hardware and
software to their best advantage. Students must own GEEZ and a G-Cube,
and provide their own equipment including a laptop computer for the
school. (Palm will be covered as well, but is of course optional.)
Students may purchase GEEZ with the school and receive an additional
discount on the entire package. The GEEZ school will start with an
afternoon classroom session in which we will go over the basics of how
the G-Cube and GEEZ works. This first classroom session will end by
doing desktop GEEZ recordings. The next morning we begin with a short
classroom session, followed by a track session to make our first
recordings on track. A classroom session to discuss what we've learned
will follow, with strategies for how to improve based on what GEEZ has
shown us. This will be followed by more track time to try the
strategies discussed in the classroom. This is then followed by one
final classroom session to validate the on-track strategies, and plan
even more refined strategies for the third and final track session. As
you can see from this outline, this is an intensive day and a half. The
lead instructor will be Byron Short.
We expect to have more information, including specific schedule dates,
very shortly.
