Aha. Perhaps I read Steve's message wrong. I read he was moving only the 
mounting points rearward. If he's moving the engine and transmission, I agree 
with you. A two inch move might be a thousand inch-pounds. That's significant.

better check your sanctioning body.....it's usually not an approved 
modification.

you would be surprised what an inch difference in weight placement makes in the 
corner weighting of a car, especially the engine and trans. If you've ever used 
a tongue scale to balance your trailer load you can imagine what moving the 
engine and trans will do to a 2000lb car.
