The residual pressure valve helps, and you can do as I used to do and fit a
stronger one if it's not enough, but your pads will drag a little. I think the
biggest advantage of the uprated axle is the ability to shim the bearings for
a precise preload and then torque the nut tight. I get a very free=spinning
wheel that doesn't wobble and doesn't knock the pads back. Everything helps,
but all these things are compromises.
