This confirms what I finally narrowed down as the cause of nasty fumes when
welding. Even just the fumes in the air from using brake cleaner in the
shop would cause bad smelling fumes when I weld. The fumes caused shortness
of breath and a lingering tight feeling in my chest. Scary stuff. I just
got some non-chlorinated brake cleaner that I hope will be OK.
