To what point?...
There are members on this list who are die hard VTR members. There are
folks on this list who maybe are a bit... ambivalent about the VTR. At best.
So... as a former VTR president.. what are you proposing? And what are the
requirements, and dues?
I rule nothing out before looking at it.. Maybe I won't like what I see
though.

I wasn't seriously proposing anything, just kinda tossing out the idea since
I understand there's been recent talk about expanding such affiliations in
VTR. Blake and other current members of the Board would be the ones to talk
more about it.
Following "traditional" Chapter guidelines as per VTR's Constitution and
Bylaws, it would actually "require" little more than at least 10 members of the
group also being current VTR members. What would it gain FoT? Probably very
little, particularly since the most formal aspect of FoT is its informality.
;-) But it might gain VTR more; I don't know....
In another post, you wrote: "I think it's in the VTR interest to recognize
the racing community, as it's one way to keep the cars in front of the general
public. I'm just waiting to see what form that recognition will take."
That recognition has been there in VTR for quite some time now. As you note,
there are "prepared" categories in the Concours at National Conventions as
started in 1997. Our own Joe Alexander has served as the "Racing" vehicle
consultant for VTR, listed right there in the magazine with all of us other
Triumph model-specific "experts"! In recent years, coverage of FoT-related
events
and cars has been quite good in _The Vintage Triumph_ magazine. Maybe all
that's more than enough, rather than make any FoT members uncomfortable by, in
any way, formalizing the organization by virtue of a stronger and more
official connection with a group such as VTR?
Heck, I'm getting to the point where I tend to follow the philosophy of
Groucho Marx regarding organizations, in that at best I'm wary of joining most
groups that might welcome me as a member! :-)
