I have to preface this with my usual "Dunno about cars, only airplanes," but
I never liked the double flare. You are bending the tubing back over itself
with a zero bend radius, just inviting the tube to crack there. Why invite
failure?
I wish I had a nickel for every cracked double flare I have found. In fact,
I just wish I had a nickel.
