I am in the middle of this job now from my last crash. As already been
mentioned, the stock springs with the small arc bend down. With the axle over
the
frame, you have to jack up the spring to meet the axle (prefferably a Model-T
screw jack).
For a number of years, I ran with the big arc springs off of a TR-4, until
one broke. They use very fat spacers. I also had 1" spacers, and 2" spacers
made many years ago for the stock springs, when the tire diameters were bigger.
