There is small load hardness testing possible with Vickers. The testing load is around 1-20N and is leaving a very small dimple on the surface. But you need a microscope unit to measure the imprint. We used this for testing stress probes before they were ripped into peaces. But this is only testing the surface hardness and does not measure the overall hardness.
