Yes, I got the same treatment years ago when I tried to run my TR3
with VSCCA. They told me they were sorry they ever accepted MGAs
because now everyone has one and the events were "filthy with them".
They are under huge pressure to have affordable events as their
members with their extremely old cars retire (one way or another) and
also with the emergence of VRG. Both our group, VDCA, and VRG are
trying to service the community that lies somewhere to one side of the
very liberal groups and the other side of VSCCA. It has become quite
a competitive field, even for those of us that are non-profits.
I encourage all of us to spend our racing entry dollars with the
groups that represent what we want to have moving into the future,
regardless of what that is. When the number of cars entered gets too
low for any of our organizations, it will disappear as did the
manufactures of buggy whips. And rightly so.
