Bill, wouldn't the bottom of the cylinders be parallel to the top of the
block and the bottom of the block? I would think in the interests of
machining at the factory all of those surfaces would have been parallel
to each other for ease of working at the factory. How else would a
boring plate be use on an engine to hold the liners in place while
boring?
