This morning I sent a message to Mid Ohio, telling them that their track
had been suggested as a site for a future Triumph event. I told them that
this was meeting with strong resistance because of all the things we have
been talking about. I didn't whine but I just told them this as a matter of
information for their management.
Here's the response I received:
From: "Marilyn Dinsmoor" <mdinsmoor@midohio.com>
To: "'Jack W. Drews'" <vinttr4@geneseo.net>
Subject: RE: public relations, etc.
Good morning, Jack ....
Thank you for your email. We appreciate any and all feedback from our fans
and competitors. The problem with the Security Department has been an
ongoing issue for some time; however, we believe and are confident that this
year it will be under control. We have hired new management and staff to
restructure our newly formed "Guest Services" department. We certainly do
not condone the rude behavior of our staff that we have heard about in the
past. It will not be tolerated this year or in the future. Our new Guest
Services Manager has been with Mid-Ohio for 5 years, and is aware of the
image that Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course wants to project to their customers.
We are a family-owned operation, and we would like for all of the people
attending our track to feel as if they are a part of our family. We
certainly want the Mid-Ohio Experience to be a good, if not great,
summertime memory.
Please know that we are not trying to make excuses or justify your
dissatisfaction. We hope that you will understand that we cannot be at all
places at all times keeping an eye on our employees and/or volunteers. We
were made aware of the problem last year, and have done our best to rectify
the situation for the 2005 Season. We review all letters and emails from
our fans after each event and again at the conclusion of our season, and
from this feedback we adjust our policies and procedures to better meet the
needs of our fans and enhance their Mid-Ohio Experience.
For both your time and disappointment, we would like to provide you with two
weekend tickets to the event of your choice during the 2005 Season. Please
call our ticket office and speak with the ticket office manager, Brenda
Weber. Her number is 1-800-MID-OHIO.
We sincerely hope that you will reverse your decision not to attend Mid-Ohio
in the future, as we have a great lineup of racing for the 2005 Season. We
hope to see you at the track again soon.
Sincerely,
Marilyn
