I don't know how the additives for no-lead high octane gas work, but I've been told numerous times that TEL gives a non-linear boost to octane with diminishing benefit, meaning that it takes a lot to get to 110, so if you start with 110 and mix 50-50 with 92 you get something equivalent to 108, mix it three to one and you wind up with 105, etc. that sounds a lot like what you're saying. |
