Hi,
I'm ready to send the crank and stuff to the balancing shop. I've decided
that all the harmonic dampeners that I have (at least 4 or 5 or them) are
not suitable for racing, as I routinely turn 6500 or so.
My machinist measured the crank snout and informs me that the dimensions
for the balancer are exactly the same as a Ford 3.6 V6. This should be a
bolt-on (except I'll have to "index" the engine for a timing mark).
I looked in Sumitt Racing for SFI dampeners that fit a Ford 3.8 V6.
Nothing. There are plenty-o-parts for all the V8's (natch).
Can anyone suggest a source for SFI dampeners for TR6?
I do see that APT sells a dampener (and of course Cambridge Motorsport and
a few others), but I was hoping that I could get something "right now" so
I can get the crank balanced.
Any feedback is appreciated.
regards,
rml
