I was  in charge of the last preparation of the Shell 4000 cars.  I have
lots of photos of that entry including one of the three cars lined up in my
shop before they went to Canada.  I was also the fellow responsible for the
alloy wheels.  They were American Mags and it was along argument to get the
officials to allow them to pass the scrutineering. The Swiss driver J.J.
Tuner was the driver that finished the special stage on a mag rim without a
tire and the wheel was roughed up but not really hurt.
