Removing plates on a SuperTrapp increases the restriction. I had a problem
with the supertrapp on my car that I solved by taking out all the plates and
just relying on the muffling to get me by--I pass sound test every time

Thanks for all the replies, I have tons of thinks to check out now. One
thing I didn't mention that I thought of later. In one of the replies
someone mentioned going to a header to reduce backpressure. I have a
Peaco racing header into 2 1/2 exhaust but it was too noisy so I added a
4" supertrapp with the stock 12 plates which come with it. Is this too
restrictive? At least it can easily be tested by removing the plates.
