I have a changing problem and I wounder if someone can help me with it. I did
the GM alternator swap about a month ago. Everything has been working fine. I
could turn on my light, wiper, fan, radio all at the same time and everything
was nice & bright. Tiday when I turned on the light I ran negitive amps. The
alternator was putting out about 10 volts. All connection were clean & good. A
direct ground to the battery didn't make any difference. I put a meter on the
excitor wire and that showed it waqs working. All fuses are good. I took the
alternato9r out and had it checked and that was good. Ground on the alternator
goes directly to the battery, The other connection does to the white wire
through a 30 amp fuse, which is good and the #2 wire goes to the black & white
wire from the old voltage regulator. I don't know what to check next or what
to look for. Anyone have any good ideas? Dana S1969 2000
